Evelyn at 12 Months

- Evy's walking!  I love coming around a corner and seeing her toddling toward me.  She loves walking around and is getting better and better.
- She'll give kisses, but they are more like trying to bite your face.  And if you ask her to blow you a kiss she will put one finger in her mouth and then pull it out.

- If Evelyn can climb into something, she will.  I find her in drawers and boxes all over the house.
- So super clingy right now. She loves her daddy, but sometimes only mommy will do.
- Gives the best hugs.

- Loves brushing her hair.
- She is a climber.  I was helping Nate with some lunch when she decided to climb up on a chair.  And then she thought it would be cool to climb on the table.  She's also figured out how to climb on the couch as well.

- Evy got to try her first bite of frozen yogurt and she loved it. She kept trying to grab the spoon to get more.
- Evy loves jumping on the bed/couch.  She just dives and giggles and giggles.
- Like to point out things in books.

- Loves jumping on her brother and giving loves.
- Her favorite books right now are touchy feely books.
- Her hair is getting so long and seems to have a bit of a curl to it.

- Gave her a fork to try and she's pretty good with it.  She sometimes forget which side you spear the food with, but she can get it in her mouth all by herself.
- Hates the carseat.

- Her 12 month stats: 19 lbs 2 oz (39th percentile,) 29.25 inches (50th percentile,) and 17.25 inch head circumference (27th percentile.)
- She's got 5 teeth and she's just waiting on one more of her upper incisors to come in.

- I love the stage she is at.  She's so interactive and wants to try what you are doing.  I love her curiosity for everything.  I love how sweet she is to give loves.  I love her energy and bravery (even thought it sometimes scares me so much!) I love her giggles and her happiness.  She is just such a joy to have around.

First Birthday Photo Shoot

Before Evy's birthday party we did a little photo shoot in her birthday clothes.  And we kept the tradition of putting balloon in the crib to play with.  Unfortunately Evy didn't love it.  We put her brother in with her to encourage her, but she definitely knows cribs are for sleeping in, not for playing.  She was much happier climbing all over the rocker.  Love my cute girly girl that I get to dress up and do her hair.  What a little doll!

Evelyn's First Birthday

We did a little party at home and Evy loved it!  We let her open presents first.  She's gotten much better at pulling off wrapping paper since Christmas.  She was spoiled with so many presents! The little wipes container is full of play wipes for her to pull out which is perfect for her because if she finds a box of wipes she pulls them all out.  Now she can do it over and over again. And the book "The Wonderful Things You Will Be" is so so sweet and beautiful! It made me cry reading it to her at bedtime.

And of course there was cake.  We sang to her and big brother helped her blow out the candle. Evy was a little wary of the frosting for about 2 seconds until she tasted it and then she dived right in!  We even caught her licking her plate!  She was so messy.  But bath time is her favorite time of day so it just made her birthday even better.

I can't believe we are already celebrating her first birthday!  She has grown up so fast, but she is at such a fun age that I really can't be too sad.  She's such a cute, smart, and happy little girl!

Last Night as a Baby

The night before Evy's first birthday, I put her in some special pajamas.  When I was still pregnant with Evy, I had bought some newborn pink pajamas with little birdies.  I loved them.  Oh and I loved when she was so so little and she would wear them. Well last week I was in a children's consignment store looking for some shoes to go with her birthday dress and I found the same jammies, but it a 12 month size.  I had to get them and have her wear them.  I even pulled out her newborn jammies to compare.  Oh how much she has grown in a year!
