I love the fall

This weekend was great. We started it out right by going to Brad's choir concert. For those of you who don't know Brad sings in BYU's Men's Chorus. They were extremely good (but I'm not biased at all.) One of my favorite pieces was the combined choirs song that they will continue to sing throughout the year.

Saturday was also good because I went up to the conference center with my mom to go see the Relief Society broadcast. It was cool to be up in the conference center. I also just liked being able to spent some time with my mom since we haven't been able to do that lately. Brad spent the evening with his brother Aaron eating Cafe Rio and playing games. They haven't been able to do that in awhile so it was good for them to get together too.

Sunday was the most exciting day by far though. My old roomie Shelley came over with her boyfriend, Trevor, this morning so that we could swap stuff. She had a bunch of photos she took at our wedding to give to us. They were exciting to see since she caught some great candid shots. However, Shelley had much bigger surprises than that. Turns out that Shelley and Trevor got engaged on Friday! I'm so excited for the two of them because they are such a great couple.

After church we went for a drive up the Alpine Loop in Provo Canyon. It was amazing to see all the colors up the canyon. It was nice to get out for a drive because we have been meaning to go up the canyon for the past month.

We also had dinner tonight with a couple of my friends from work and their husbands. It was fun to get together and chat. Dinner was fabulous and the desserts divine. All in all it was a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

50 Years and 1 Year

This weekend was a very momentous one. Thursday, September 11, was my grandpa and grandma Palmer's 50th wedding anniversary. So, on Friday we had a big party for them. They had all of their kids and grandkids there. It was wonderful to celebrate with them their many happy years of marriage.
Saturday was also a momentous occasion. Brad and I went on our first date one year ago. So to commemorate, we went on the same date (almost.) We started it out with going to Cafe Rio. Unfortunately, we forgot that the football game would be getting out the same time we were wanting dinner. So, we ending up calling in our order to the Orem Cafe Rio, not the Provo one. We arrived at Cafe Rio early but found a DownEast right next to it. We're on the search for furniture so we thought we'd stop in. We ended up finding a coffee table which looks great in our new place. I'm so excited to have furniture.
After dinner, we went to HumorU. It's a comedy group at BYU. Last year I won Brad a HumorU t-shirt at one of the shows. So, Brad won me a shirt this time. All in all, it was a great weekend.

Honeymoon in San Diego

We had such a fun time in San Diego and we got to do a lot of fun things. We started things out right by going to Cheesecake Factory (thanks Emily!) We went to Balboa Park, which has 15 museums, several gardens, an outside organ, etc., for a few days. The Botanical Garden was one of our favorite stops. We took a lot of pictures there. The science museum was also very cool. We also spent a day at the zoo which was a very fun. We had a lot of fun seeing all the animals, including the many baby animals. We walked practically everywhere and had very sore feet for the rest of the trip. On the last day of our trip we went to see the USS Midway, a naval aircraft carrier. It was intense. It was build in the 40's but looked like it would be on the leading edge of naval vessels today. Overall, it was a very good trip. It served as a nice break after all the stress of getting the wedding together and starting school.

The Big Day

So about two weeks ago Brad and I got married in the Salt Lake Temple. It was an amazing day full of people we love celebrating with us. The day started out early for both of us and we were exhausted. However, we were so excited that it kept us energized. We had a wonderful sealing full of wonderful advice and promises. I finally got to meet Greg and Lauren (my new brother and sister-in-law) in the sealing room. After the temple it was time for pictures and our "Chicken Dinner" wedding luncheon. The reception was beautiful and we both enjoyed the evening together. We did get unexpectedly saran wrapped by my family. All together it was a very exciting day that we'll never forget.

Welcome

Hi Everyone! I'm trying my hand at blogging and I can't seem to figure it out quite yet. I'll try though. Brad and I thought this might be a good way to keep in touch with everyone. Wish me luck!
